The user experience (UX) strategy sits at the core of digital communications, yet it is often the missing element in UX projects. Explore the elements of UX and understand how processes like user research, business requirements gathering, and brand strategy both support and are supported by user experience. Develop a sound UX strategy including deliverables like personas, concept models and user journeys, then translate that strategy into actionable recommendations and useful, useable and compelling designs.
This course can be applied to the UBC Certificate in Digital Content and Communications.
This course is offered in two formats: in-class and 100% online. Please note we may not offer both formats every term.
In-class: Our in-class courses are designed to encourage participants to take an active role in content discussions and class presentations. Courses are offered throughout the year, are approximately four weeks in length, and are held on-site at UBC Robson Square, downtown Vancouver.
Online: Our online courses are structured to provide a positive learning environment for participants to engage in and interact with the content and other participants, as well as with the online tutor – an industry professional. Tutors facilitate the learning throughout the course and are available to provide feedback and guidance as you navigate through the content. Courses are delivered online over approximately six weeks and involve an average of six-to-ten hours of study per week.
Prior to 4pm PST on the start date of the course, an email will be sent to all registered participants containing instructions on how to access the online course.
