DARRM Digital Readiness Checklist

The Digital Asset, Rights and Risk Management - DARRM™ Digital Readiness Checklist survey developed in conjunction with DARRM.org, provides a guide to navigating the complexities of managing and monetizing intangible assets/, from identification and classification to security measures, risk management and revenue generation strategies. For more information about DARRM™, please click on the following hyperlink: darrm.org and check out our content, including a glossary of defined terms. Though this preliminary checklist is designed to help you assess your organization's readiness in managing digital assets responsibly and ethically, incorporating key aspects of DARRM™ (Digital Asset Risk and Rights Management), it is not a substitute for professional or legal advice.

The checklist covers nine (9) professional practices:

1. Digital Asset Management (DAM)

2. Metadata & Taxonomy

3. Digital Rights Management (DRM)

4. Intellectual Property (IP)

5. Cybersecurity

6. Artificial Intelligence (AI), Ethics, and Governance

7. Compliance (legal and other)

8. Risk Management

9. Leveraging intangible assets

Each area includes a set of general questions and considerations to guide your evaluation. By thoroughly reviewing and addressing these points, your organization can establish a robust framework for DARRM™ and ensure the secure, ethical, and efficient use of its intangible assets.

The survey will take approximately 5 minutes to complete and your responses will be kept anonymous. Your personal information is collected under the authority of section 26(e) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA). All information that identifies you will be kept confidential. Collated data from the survey will be shared with UBC Sauder Continuing Business Studies and DARRM.org to develop and publish a baseline for comparison purposes. Further details on our privacy policy can be found here.

Survey participants will receive a copy of the collated survey results once ready, to help you assess your organization’s readiness compared with others.
