From a more strategic perspective, this course will explore ways to strengthen an organization’s day to day culture for long term adaptability to unplanned events or incidents. The concept of change maturity will be discussed in depth. It will also explore Emotional Intelligence for individuals and how it can impact organizations. For long term change management activities, it will identify a variety of organizational infrastructure and change models to consider.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
•Understand common barriers to change and ways to overcome resistance
•Identify ways to build a culture of change within an organization
•Explain the concept of Emotional Intelligence and how to assess it
•Describe how Emotional Intelligence pertains to organizational culture and change management in general and how it can positively impact change projects
•Identify the various levels of change maturity an organization can go through
•Understand what change competency is and how to build it
•Identify methods for organizations to continually improve their ability to implement change through engagement and other tactics
•Identify the types of infrastructure an organization can put in place in support of change management
•identify various change management models that organizations can adopt to enhance corporate culture

Change Management Fundamentals (IB810)
Earn 38 PDUs.
This course can be applied to the UBC Associate Certificate in Change Management.
This course is ACMP QEP™ (Qualified Educational Provider) certified and qualified for 38 PDUs.
Course Format
During COVID 19 the format of this course is live online for the Winter 2021 courses. Prior to 4pm PST on the start date of the course, an email will be sent to all registered students containing instructions on how to access the online Learning Management System.
Participants will be required to complete online readings and discussion/activity prior to attending the in-class sessions.
NOTE: In-class sessions are mandatory.
